What it takes
Phi Eta Sigma officers must be members in good standing coming from current academic year initiates. PES officers possess the ability to organize and a willingness to work. They have a demonstrated leadership ability and a commitment to academic excellence.
President
Qualifications
Member in good standing coming from current academic year initiates. Must possess organizational ability, willingness to work, as well as demonstrated leadership ability and commitment to academic excellence.
Responsibilities
Must become familiar with all aspects of Phi Eta Sigma. Spokesperson and recognized leader of Phi Eta Sigma. Presiding officer of Executive Committee and general meetings. Delegates responsibilities and assignments to officers and members as necessary. participates in initiation ceremonies. Represents the Alabama Chapter of Phi eta Sigma on campus. Is a delegate to national and regional conferences. Appoints other officers and committee chairs and members as necessary. Ex-officio on all committees. Authorized to sign checks of the organization. Meets bi-weekly with faculty advisor.
Selection Process
Interested students interviewed by outgoing Executive Committee. Candidates should submit a resume and application to the faculty advisor at least one working day before the scheduled interview. Officer will be chosen by a majority vote of Executive Committee in attendance.
Vice President
Qualifications
Member in good standing of current academic year initiates. Must prossess organizational ability, willingness to work, as well as demonstrated leadership ability and commitment to academic excellence.
Responsibilities
In absence of President, presides and performs the duties of President. Must become familiar with all aspects of Phi Eta Sigma. participates in initiation ceremonies. Receives reports of committees. Assigns and supervises work of committees.
Selection Process
Interested students interviewed by Executive Committee. Candidates should submit a resume and application to the faculty advisor at least one working day before the scheduled interview. Officer will be chosen by a majority vote of Executive Committee in attendance.
Secretary
Qualifications
Member in good standing of current academic year initiates. Must possess organizational ability, willingness to work, as well as demonstrated leadership ability and commitment to academic excellence.
Responsibilites
Take minutes of meetings, distribute minutes for correction, read minutes of previous meetings, notify members of committee appointments, presides over business meetings in absence of President and Vice President, notify members of meeting. Must become familiar with all aspects of Phi Eta Sigma. Participates in initiation ceremonies. Keeps roll of members.
Selection Process
Interested students interviewed by Executive Committee. Candidates should submit a resume and application to the faculty adivsor at least one working day before the scheduled interview. Officer will be chosen by a majority vote of Executive Committee in attendance.
Historian
Qualifications
Member in good standing of current academic year initiates. Must possess organizational ability, willingness to work, as well as demonstrated leadership ability and commitment to academic excellence.
Responsibilities
Keeper of scrapbook and photographer. Must become familiar with all aspects of Phi Eta Sigma. Participates in initiation ceremonies. Keeps roll of members.

Treasurer
Qualifications
Member in good standing of current academic year initiates. Must posses organizational ability, willingness to work as well as demonstrate leadership ability and commitment to academic excellence.
Responsibilities
Fiscal officer, authorizes and pays all bills, collects dues, provides treasurer's report at meeting. Reconciles monthyl bank statements. Authorized to sign checks. Must become familiar with all aspects of Phi Eta Sigma. Participates in initiation ceremonies. Authorized to sign checks. Must become familiar with all aspects of Phi Eta Sigma. Interested student interviewed by Executive Committee. Candidates should submit a resume and application to the faculty advisor at least one working day before the scheduled interview. Officer will be chosen by a majority vote of Executive Committee in attendance.
Coordinating Council of Honor Society Liaison (2)
Qualifications
Member in good standing of current academic year initiates. Must posses organizational ability, willingness to work as well as demonstrate leadership ability and commitment to academic excellence.
Responsibilities
Represents Phi Eta Sigma at CCHS meetings. Reports to Vice President.
Selection Process
Interested student interviewed by Executive Committee. Candidates should submit a resume and application to the faculty advisor at least one working day before the scheduled interview. Officer will be chosen by a majority vote of Executive Committee in attendance.
Projects Team (2)
Qualifications
Members in good standing coming from current academic year initiates. Must posses organizational ability, willingness to work, as well as demonstrated leadership ability and commitment to academic excellence.
Responsibilities
Coordinates the community service projects and events.
Selection Process
Interested students interviewed by outgoing Executive Committee. Candidates should submit a resume and application to the faculty advisor at least one working day before the scheduled interview. Officer will be chosen by a majority vote of Executive Committee in attendance.
Communication Team (2)
Qualifications
Member in good standing coming from the current academic year initiates. Must process organizational ability, willingness to work, as well as demonstrate leadership ability and commitment to academic excellence.
Responsibilities
Coordinate social events that will allow members the opportunity to become more involved in the organization
Selection Process
Interested students interviewed by outgoing Executive Committee. Candidates should submit a resume and application to the faculty advisor at least one working day before the scheduled interview. Officer will be chosen by majority vote of Executive Committee in attendance.
Junior Advisor
Qualifications
Past president, officer, or active member who will be a junior during period of office. Must be well versed in Phi Eta Sigma practice and tradition on campus.
Responsibilities
To provide experience leadership by participation in Executive assignments, can take the place of any officer.
Selection Process
Nominations by faculty advisor and outgoing junior advisor. Other interested students should submit a resume and application to the faculty advisor at least one working day before scheduled interviews. Selection by majority of current members of Executive Committee in attendance.
Senior Advisor
Qualifications
Past president, officer, or active member who will be a junior during period of office. Must be well versed in Phi Eta Sigma practice and tradition on campus.
Responsibilities
To ensure continuity o program and provide experience leadership by participation in Executive Committee, general meetings and initiation ceremonies.
Selection Process
Nominations by faculty advisor and outgoing junior advisor. Other interested students should submit a resume and application to the faculty advisor at least one working day before scheduled interviews. Selection by majority of current members of Executive Committee in attendance.
